THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLE: Above all else, enjoy what you eat
Context: eat in a calm atmosphere feeling good and relaxed is the major prerequisite for proper digestion and assimilation.
Frugality: have light meals and avoid double helpings.
Personalization: adapt menus to your constitution, your lifestyle, climate and season.
Raw foods: : provide more vitamins and minerals and are sources of vitality; to be consumed depending on how you tolerate them.
Freshness: avoid long storage times.
Quality: It is best to consume organic foods as much as possible. Industrial products often contain a lot of pesticides, preservatives, dyes, steroids, emulsifiers, sweeteners, artificial flavours or texture. They may be deficient in essential nutrients.
Refined products: refining eliminates nutrients in cereals (bread, pasta, rice, flour), salt, sugar and oils ...; gradually replace refined products by semi refined food and whole (organic) foods depending on how you tolerate them, replace industrial sugars with unrefined sugars and those made from cereals, agave and dried fruit.
Flavours: use herbs and spices, vary tastes and colours.
Masticate: quietly, slowly, with pleasure; digestion starts in the mouth.
Eating raw fruits between meals to avoid bloating and flatulence (at 10h and/or 17h)
Combine foods correctly avoiding the following combinations:
- Meat or fish and cereals
- Acids or sugars and grains
Reduce or eliminate stimulants coffee, black tea, tobacco, cocoa, alcohol
Avoid snacking between meals
Reduce meat consumption in favour of fish and eggs.
Prefer low temperature cooking: steam, in greaseproof paper (not aluminium), bake in the oven at less than 110C°, poach or braise and avoid aluminium cookware as well as the use of microwave and pressure cooker.
